Hello there!!! To all of our fans out there . . . sorry it has taken so long to get the official 7 League Boots (7LB) website up. Some of you may think it strange that we waited until the band broke up to post a website. Well, that’s a really long story and one I don’t intend to bore you with. Let’s just say we never had our collective sh*t together while we were an official, gigging band and leave it at that. Yet many of you had expressed an interest in knowing more about the group that I felt compelled to get something up on the internet. Plus we needed another vehicle to sell our stuff. Heh. That said, while you’re here, please do check out our Music Page - there's information there on how you can purchase our CD "Into Action".
Okay, just to let you know the official word on 7LB reforming is something not entirely out of the question. Though I would have to say it’s very unlikely. However, I’ve been talking with our former lead guitarist and chief songwriter, Tom Brubaker, and he’s expressed an interest in recording some new 7LB material in the very near future. Of course, he’ll have to fly here to Texas to make that happen, so we’ll see. Additionally, there is a plan in place to put out a 7 League Boots “Metroplex *Almost* Live” CD by the end of 2004. Why? Well, we had a rather large collection of our rehearsals and some unfinished tunes (caught on tape) we’d been working on at the end that needed a home. It’ll include many of your favorites plus some unreleased stuff. I’ve added some fake crowd noise just to give it atmosphere. I think you’ll like it. (Note: There is no “official” live recording of 7LB that I’m aware of.)
Many of you have been asking if any other previously unreleased material is available. The answer is “yes it is”. So if you’re interested in that you’ll need to go to the Akoustiks website. There’s a song called “Agents Of Change” which 7LB did perform live on a number of occasions. The other tune is called “Monday Morning”. It’s a song we never performed live but had rehearsed many times. Both tunes can be found on the Akoustiks 2 CD set “On & On And On & On & On. Anyone familiar Akoustiks knows that it’s comprised of me (Len Jennings), Chris Gill (former lead guitarist for Toast) and Aaron Haines (former 7LB drummer).
I promise to keep this information as current as possible and I’ll be sure to let you know if there are any changes or updates regarding 7LB. For now though, I’m heavily involved in starting my own graphic design firm, a record label and co-fronting a new group called Rock Of The Ages. So I’ll be fairly busy for the next 10,000 years or so. Heh. Soooo . . . talk to ya soon!
